It has been a pleasure to service the people in Southern Illinois for the past 25 years.  Living in a small community gives me a chance to become involved in the growth of this area.  I have served on the Habitat for Humanity Board and enjoyed helping area residents obtain their first home.  I love sports and besides writing an area sports column for 3 years, I have served on the JCSA Youth Board, coached baseball, and love going to Mt. Vernon Rams football and basketball games.  I serve on the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce small business council and believe in supporting our local merchants and programs as much as possible.  I have one son, Eric, and my wife, Karen, and I are getting ready to celebrate our 30th anniversary this July.

When I am asked what has been the most rewarding thing I have noticed over my career, it has to be the privilege to get to work on customer's homes more than once!  Statistics show that people change flooring on average from 8 to 12 years.  We are now redoing clients homes for the second and third time and that is the ultimate compliment a business should strive to obtain.
